Truck bed length: 6.5 ft vs 5.5 ft — my 3-year real-world verdict

Three years in a 5.5-ft bed, then I switched to a 6.5-ft. Here's what I actually noticed, broken down into two categories: what I gained and what I lost.

My verdict: If you haul plywood or camp in the bed, get the 6.5-ft. If you park in a garage or commute in the city, stick with 5.5-ft. I don't regret the switch, but I do miss fitting in a standard parking spot.
